Polka dot for days

When we think of Kate Middleton’s style, we think chic and elegant. Ever since becoming the Duchess of Cambridge in 2011, the world has been fixated on her style, as she always impresses in high-street and designer brands.

During an appearance at Bletchley Park on Tuesday, the 37-year-old was spotted in a polka-dot crêpe de chine dress from London label Alessandra Rich. The navy midi dress features button detailing and a white collar. She completed the look with powder blue pumps from Emmy London, a clutch from Smythson and jewellery by Annoushka Pearl and Kiki McDonough. This was not the first time that Kate has been spotted in this dress, as she was previously photographed wearing it in family photos released in honor of Prince Charles’s 70th birthday.

This is not the first time that the Duchess recycles a piece that she has previously worn, as this is something that she is known for. However, she is not the only one spotted in this Alessandra Rich frock. Several celebrities have been photographed rocking this piece. This includes Abigail Spencer, Meghan Markle’s friend and former Suits co-star, who wore this dress to Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding in May.

Another star spotted in this same dress is Sex and the City actress, Sarah Jessica Parker. The style icon wore the dress to the opening night of The Seafarer play. She wore the dress under a dark printed coat, with an embellished belt and white pumps.

Moreover, back in fall of 2017, Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley was spotted championing the London-based brand. She wore the dress with a belt and nude heeled sandals for her appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan.

Unfortunately, the now infamous cult piece is sold out; however, you can get your hand on a similar style available online. For spring/summer 2019, the designer brought back the dress, but swapped drop-waist pleats for an on-trend asymmetric hemline and shortened the sleeves. The polka dot silk dress can be found in The Modist and retails at AED 6,840.
