Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has once again raised the bar in luxury automotive craftsmanship with the unveiling of Arcadia Droptail, the third Coachbuild Droptail commission.

Named after the mythical realm of Arcadia, renowned as ‘Heaven on Earth,’ this coachbuilt marvel reflects the patron’s affinity for architecture and design. Inspired by regions like Singapore and Indonesia, Arcadia Droptail combines modernist tropical sky garden precision with British ‘Biomimetic’ architecture, resulting in a serene space characterized by reduction, material depth, and tactility.

The exterior pays tribute to Droptail’s form with a calm, natural duotone colorway, creating an effervescent shimmer under natural light. Carbon fiber lower sections are painted in bespoke silver, lifting the motor car’s profile and intensifying its dynamic intent. The mirror-polished brightwork adds a touch of historical elegance, enhancing Droptail’s clean, monolithic surfacing.

Inside, the Santos Straight Grain wood dominates, selected for its rich texture and visual intrigue. Craftsmen spent over 8,000 hours developing a protection system for the exterior wood surfaces, ensuring durability in tropical climates. The leather interior, finished in bespoke hues, complements the wood, while the exquisite shawl panel unites all four Droptail motor cars, making it the largest continuous wood section ever seen on a Rolls-Royce.

A precision instrument, the clock fascia incorporates an intricate geometric guilloché pattern and 12 ‘chaplets’ just 0.1mm thick, symbolizing the marque’s heritage. The clock assembly alone took five months, preceded by over two years of development, highlighting Rolls-Royce’s commitment to excellence.

Arcadia Droptail stands as a testament to the pinnacle of bespoke luxury automotive craftsmanship.
