Nothing completes an outfit like a great bag. For SS20, many designers focused on statement pieces by introducing vibrant prints, bold colours and extra decorative elements.

For Egyptian brand OKHTEIN, bags have always been designed to be the centre of attention. The bold approach has scored the brand fans from around the world, including Beyoncé and Queen Rania. No wonder it made it into the Forbes Middle East’s, 30 Under 30 list last year.

Created by Egyptian design duo siblings Aya and Mounaz Abdelraouf, their geometric pieces evoke medieval charm. Made with the help of Cairo’s local craftsmen, their newest collection was inspired by the vibrancy of Studio 54.

OKHTEIN’s Disco Beach collection celebrates the nights that turn into mornings. Using summer textures and turning them into upscale glam, Disco Beach shows a modern take on the spirit of the iconic nightclub, with a touch of beachside glamour.

They have also introduced a series of new minimal shapes, notably the Feryal, the Dalilah and the Nazly with an interesting material mix between coloured marbled plexi and leather. Hues ranged from blush pink and emerald green, in addition to classical shades such as black and white. The raffia makes a return with a fun metallic twist in the spirit of Studio 54, with the Soirée and Octi clutches in electric pink, blue, mint and gold.

In line with the collection’s theme, the brand presented for the first time its signature brass bags in various finishes, including royal blue and purple.
