As the national vaccine rollout continues in the UAE, once you’ve received both doses of the COVID-19 jab you’ll be eligible to obtain a gold star or ‘E’ on the Al Hosn app.
In doing so, obtaining the ‘E’ on the COVID-19 tracking app will enable UAE citizens and residents to attend large events.
As per the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), the COVID-19 vaccine is now needed for attending large events across the country including sport, cultural social and art ones with an active letter ‘E’ on the national COVID-19 tracing app – Al Hosn.
As per The National, vaccinated tourists also have access to the Al Hosn app, as authenticated proof of having received the jab back in their home country, after registering the unified number (UID) listed on their respective visas.
Both the special statuses including the ‘Star’ and ‘E’ will appear 28 days after the final dose, with an additional negative PCR result taken after day 28, with the status remaining live for a period of seven days.

In order to receive the ‘E’ or ‘Star’ once again, it will be essential to retake another PCR test and receive a negative result for keeping the result alive in case required for a certain event or if needed by the employer, including travel in and out of Abu Dhabi.
With the Al Hosn app make it easier to contract the tracing on a larger scale, as it also allows for you to use it as a vaccine travel certificate for travelling abroad.
