Collaborations are a dime a dozen – and 2023 has been off to a strong start with Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama, Palace x Rimowa, New Balance x Miu Miu, Tiffany & Co. x Nike are some of the ones worth name-dropping.
H&M’s long history of designer collaborations are as legendary as they are pioneering, being one of the first fast fashion brands that have spearheaded this strategy. Through these partnerships, the Swedish high street brand has made high-end fashion accessible to the global audience with notable partnerships with brands such as Johanna Ortiz, Giambattista Valli, Moschino, Kenzo, Balmain, Maison Margiela – to name a few. In 2020, the leading fast fashion giant has also teamed up with Beirut-based label Sandra Mansour for a 15-piece “Fleur de Soleil” collection featuring the designer’s signature feminine silhouettes, frill details, and whimsical embellishments.
Today, H&M has announced that it will be teaming up with the house of Mugler. Crafted under the vision of creative director Casey Cadwallader, the collection will encapsulate the unique, vibrant, and empowering spirit of the french heritage brand. In February last year, Cadwallader has also teamed up with Jimmy Choo for an exclusive shoe collection that celebrated confident women.
No previews have been shared just yet – however dare we say the collection will likely showcase body-skimming silhouettes and full-on femme fatale energy, the same design codes that the house is built upon.
