Three and a half years ago power couple Amal and George Clooney welcomed twins – Ella and Alexander.
However, George Clooney has recently recalled how he was stunned at the news his wife was expecting not one, but two children.
In an interview with CBS This Morning, Clooney even admitted that he and Amal, who is a top human right’s barrister in the UK, had “never talked about having kids”.
“One day we just said, ‘What do you think?’,” Clooney revealed, also recalling the moment they visited their doctor for the ultrasound where it was announced they have a baby boy, but the Oscar-winning actor was in for another surprise.
“And they go, ‘And you got another one there.’ I was up for one. Again, I’m old,” he said. “All of a sudden, it’s two.”
The 59-year-old revealed that it’s “hard” to leave him stunned, but this news certainly did.
“It’s hard to get me to not talk and I just stood there for like 10 minutes just staring at this piece of paper going, ‘What? Two?’,” he said.
Clooney also delved a bit deeper into his very private relationship with Amal, revealing that just like they hadn’t discussed having children, they also never discussed marriage.
“We never talked about marriage when we were dating,” he said. “I asked her out of the blue, took her a long time to say yes.
“I was on my knee for like 20 minutes, I finally said, ‘Look, I’m gonna throw my hip out.'”
The couple currently resides together with their two children in the UK just outside of London.
