It was created by female Emirati artists…

Dubai art lovers can now check out a beautiful mural dedicated to Sheikh Zayed, the founding father of the UAE.

Today marks 52 years since the late ruler assumed leadership in Abu Dhabi on August 6, 1966. In commemoration of this special date, the Cultural Office of HH Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has unveiled the second edition of its Al Ydar mural project, which was launched as part of the Year of Zayed.

The mural, which will be displayed for one year on the outer wall of the Dubai Ladies Club in Jumeirah, features various works of art exploring the journey and achievements of Sheikh Zayed.

It was created in collaboration with Dubai’s Zayed University, with the help of 22 female Emirati students from the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises.

Sheikha Manal said the achievements and values of the late Sheikh Zayed continue to inspire innovators to create outstanding works of art.

The work was a result of Sheikh Zayed’s efforts to educate Emiratis and support Emirati women by providing them with the tools and skills they need to excel and succeed across all fields, she said.

The 140-metre mural is made up of six connected sections, which each feature a collection of paintings and drawings inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s values, including wisdom, respect, sustainability and human development.
