After being postponed by a year, Dubai Expo 2020 is set to take place later this year in October.

The six-month event will begin on October 1, 2021, and will continue until March 31, 2022, with visitors set to touch down in Dubai from all over the world, particularly as there are 190 countries globally participating in the highly-anticipated event.

Last week, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, declared that Dubai was “100 per cent ready” to host the event.

“As part of the preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai, 72 working teams from federal and local authorities have completed a joint strategic exercise to simulate Expo in October,” he said.

“And we can say that the UAE is 100 per cent ready for the largest cultural event in the world,” he added.

In accordance with Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, the legacy of the Expo 2020 site had also been addressed to ensure that it continues to make an impact in the UAE’s continued progress measures, aiming to engulf guests in distinguished architecture, culture and inspiring innovations.

Earlier this year, over 100,000 visitors were welcomed to witness a special preview of Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion, to delve into an exploratory experience of making positive changes through its unique features.

As per the current vaccination drive taking place in the country, vaccines shall be provided to all official representatives of the countries participating to make it a safe experience for all, while keeping all the set precautionary measures in place to ensure the health, well-being and safety of all the visitors is of utmost importance during the Expo.
