Arab designers keep dominating Hollywood award shows
The film industry’s A list celebrities arrived at California for the 24th annual Critics’ Choice Awards, on Sunday. As the women of Hollywood walked the blue-carpet, it was evident that pieces by Middle Eastern designers dominated. Here are the eight celebrities who wore Arab brands to the awards ceremony last night.

Chrissy Teigen
The American model and social media sensation stunned in a white gown by Egyptian label Maison Yeya. The strapless dress features a thigh-high split and waist-cinching embellished belt. She styled the look with a Stuart Weitzman silver sandals and Jaipur Jewels diamond earrings.
Patricia Clarkson
The Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television actress dazzled in a black gown by Lebanese designer Georges Chakra. The sparkling, v-neck, flowing gown with silver dipped sleeves is from the designers Fall-Winter 2018 couture collection. Patricia also wore a gown from the Lebanese fashion house at the Golden Globes where she picked up an award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series for Sharp Objects.
Catherine O’Hara
The Schitt’s Creek actress rocked the blue-carpet in a Georges Chakra suit and Csarite jewelry. The black suit pants were paired with a black blazer with glittery red and black embroidery at the edges.
Judy Greer
The 43-year-old actress looked beautiful in a Reem Acra dress from the Pre-Fall 2019 collection. The colorful textured gown featured heavy embroidery and voluminous sleeves gown. Judy completed the chic look with sleek hair, a pop of red lips and multi-colored earrings.
Jodie Comer
The British actress looked radiant in a white gown from Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. The ethereal dress is from the Spring-Summer 2018 Ready to Wear collection. It featured gorgeous cape-style sleeves and lace. The Best Actress in a Drama Series nominee looked chic with loosely curled hair and natural makeup.
Linda Cardellini
The Green Book actress rocked an all black look from Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. The off-shoulder dress featured lots of lace and sheer. She finished up the look with a top knot and dangling earrings.
Kirby Howell-Baptiste
The British actress and writer wore a pale blue gown by Reem Acra. The draped ruffled dress is from the designer’s Resort 2019 Ready to Wear collection. She complimented the look heels from Stella Luna, Dena Kemp jewellery and a Jimmy Choo clutch.
Brianna Hildebrand
The Deadpool actress wore a cream dress by Syrian designer Rami Al Ali. The dress from the Fall-Winter 2018 Couture collection featured an impressive feathered skirt. The 22-year-old brought her own edgy style to the feminine dress by rocking a bold red lip.
