The youngest of the Hadid siblings, Anwar Hadid is on a trip to his motherland Palestine. The Palestinian-American model has taken to Instagram to share his journey back home with his 2.5 million followers.

The Hadid family, led by their patriarch real-estate developer, Mohamed Hadid have always be out-spoke about their Arab roots. Earlier this month, the 70-year-old who was born in Nazareth gave a speech at Harvard University’s Arab Conference, where he spoke about Palestine and his ties to the country.

The family is one of the most famous in the world, thanks to the success of their father and supermodel sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid. Even though the family is based in the United States, they have used their platform to highlight their heritage and what it means to be Palestinian. So. we are glad to see that 19-year-old is also using his voice to shed light on Palestine.

In an Instagram post, Anwar revealed that he has just arrived, and is planning on sharing the true stories of the people. He wrote: “My brothers and i touched the mother land today😭🇵🇸 much culture and beauty and PEOPLE that need to be seen + heard💖💖 hopefully we can show u guys the DEEP rooted DETAILS that effect our people everyday.”

“Even the ones who are too young to understand, these things have been engraved into their lives. I feel like this could give us all good perspectives of our own lives, to see what is truly true and real vs what is told to us to be true.”

Mohamed Hadid took advantage of this opportunity, and left a comment under his son’s post. He recounted a story from his youth, writing: “Our home land. Where I was born is Nazareth. Where your grand parents ( my mom and dad ) we’re living in a town name Safad The Jewish family that we invited them as guests to stay with us for several years, took our home .. and locked us out. And when my mom and I and my sister Sana went back home I was one month old.

“We had to walk for and bussed for hundreds of miles to end up in a refugee camp in Syria. While my father was thrown out with my two other sisters and his mother to another refugee camp. We were the victims of a European victimising the Jewish population .. and ended up in our back yard. Sad but that’s the truth,” the developer concluded.

We can’t wait to see more from Anwar’s trip!
