If you’re a resident of the Palm Jumeirah and are growing tired of travelling into town for a mall trawl, you’re in luck…
No longer do Palmers (those living on the Palm) need to trek across the emirate to flex some plastic at one of Dubai’s many malls. The five-storey, Dhs1.2 billion Nakheel Mall is coming to Palm Jumeirah.

The project is already beginning to take shape, with construction about half way finished. The entire complex will consist of 4.5 million square feet of shops, restaurants and entertainment options, with a three-tiered parking lot with over 4,000 parking spaces.
Throughout the five floors, shoppers will be treated to a mix of over 350 retail outlets, restaurants and leisure attractions, spread over 1.2 million square feet of leasable space, as well as a VIP entrance, two fountains and two waterfalls that pour from a height of 65ft into the mall.

The mall rooftop will house a number of fine dining options, with views stretching out over the Palm, Arabian Gulf and the Dubai skyline.

A good 60 per cent of the retail space has already been snatched up, with places like Waitrose, Vox Cinemas, Adidas, Breitling, French Connection and Montblanc set to move in.
It hasn’t yet been announced exactly when the mall will be opening, but Nakheel have announced in a statement that they hope to have it open by Q3 this year.

Next to Nakheel Mall you’ll find the 52-storey Palm Tower – set to be completed by 2018 – which will play home to a St Regis hotel as well as a residential complex. The first 18 floors of The Palm Tower will be taken up by the St Regis, while the rest of the building will house 504 luxury residences.
On the 50th floor of the 52-storey tower you’ll find the highest infinity pool in Dubai, and one of the highest in the world – as well as a restaurant on the 51st floor and a viewing deck on the 52nd.

The St Regis is also set to open up a beach club as part of Nakheel’s Palm West Beach complex, which will offer up a host of dining, leisure and fitness options, as well as their own infinity pool spread across 100m along the seafront.

Guests of the St Regis in The Palm Tower will gain complimentary access to the hotel’s beach club, whereas residents will be treated to discount membership deals.
