We all love a good clothes shop, but heading to the changing room with 30 items tucked under your arm can turn it into a bit of a long process. Especially if you’ve dragged somebody along to the store with you.
The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi has announced the return of the Virtual Style Po, which would not only save time for hardcore clothes shoppers, but makes it a whole bunch easier to find and pick out what you think you’d look good in.
The Pod allows shoppers the ability to try clothes on, without actually having to try them on – using augmented reality to show users what they’d look like in an array of luxury outfits. This is particularly appealing for local shoppers.
Using 3D body mapping technology, combined with life-sized mirrors, shoppers can twirl around for a 360-degree view of the outfit, and have the option to mix and match what they’re wearing.
As far as what’s on offer to sample, a wide variety of both men’s and women’s contemporary fashion brands will be unveiling their spring and summer collections for shoppers to virtually try on.
The participating brands include: Berluti, Carolina Herrera, Diesel, DKNY, Emporio Armani, Ermenegildo Zegna , Etoile La Boutique, Façonnable, Fendi, Hogan, Kenzo, La Martina, Lanvin, Liu Jo, Paul Smith, Pinko, Ralph Lauren, Sacoor Brothers, Tom Ford, and Tommy Hilfiger.
Charles Martinez, General Manager of The Galleria said: “We are delighted to once again be leading the way in innovative shopping experiences and fashion trends in the capital. We are always looking for ways to enhance the experience of our guests, whatever their needs may be.
“Bringing pioneering technology to The Galleria such as the Virtual Style Pod helps us to revolutionise the customer experience and act as the leading luxury shopping and dining destination in the UAE.”
Unfortunately, the Virtual Style Pod isn’t a permanent addition to The Galleria, but it can be found there from May 4 to July 17.
