She may only be 17 but Kylie Jenner has already set the beauty world ablaze with trends from plump pouts to pastel-hued hair, now the teenager is turning her ability to start a craze into a business by launching a beauty tutorial blog. A celebrity blog is nothing new these days with everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow (Goop) to Blake Lively (Preserve), Reese Witherspoon (Draper James) and Jessica Alba (Honest) all boasting a lifestyle website, however Kylie Jenner’s step-by-step tutorial style will be more educational and will allow fans to recreate the looks the Jenner and Kardashian sisters are so famous for.
Kylie announced the news on her social media sites, however the revelation could potentially spark some sibling rivalry as the news was made just days after older sister Kim Kardashian revealed she had plans to launch a similar blog.

Kim also took to Instagram to reveal her plans to share a contouring tutorial with her fans. Though Mrs West’s plans are more niche, with the reality star focussing on the way her face changes shape during her pregnancy. She said in the post: “Anyone who has been pregnant or gained weight knows your face totally changes! My nose gets bigger, cheeks fuller & my lips swell up. The challenge is trying to adjust the make-up to make me feel normal & we will share our tricks on KimKardashianWest.com @styledbyhrush.”

Kylie’s blog is set to be a huge hit. Already on YouTube there are over 120,000 beauty tutorials, made by fans, on how to get her many looks, which includes ever-changing hair colours. However, there has been some controversy surrounding Kylie’s bee-stung looking lips. The teen has been criticised for getting her looks cosmetically enhanced.

After months of speculation, Kylie admitted she “tip-toed around the truth” when asked about how her lips had drastically changed in size. The star finally confessed on Keeping Up with the Kardashians: “I have temporary lip fillers. It’s just an insecurity of mine, and it’s what I wanted to do. I’m just not ready to talk to reporters about my lips yet, because everyone always picks us apart.”
Kylie made the confession following the dangerous ‘lip plumping challenge’ aka #kyliejennerchallenge in which many teens set about enlarging their lips by sucking shot glasses or aerosol can lids to emulate Kylie’s look. Countless impressionable teenagers revealed the results of the careless craze on their social media networks. In many cases it led to bruising around the mouth and bleeding.

Devastated by the challenge, Kylie tweeted: “I’m not here to try & encourage people/young girls to look like me or to think this is the way they should look. I want to encourage people/young girls like me to be YOURSELF & not be afraid to experiment w your look (sic)”.
