Amal Clooney absolutely smashed it out of the park at the Met Gala
The Beirut-born human rights lawyer stunned on the red carpet in streamlined navy trousers and a metallic corset by emerging British designer Richard Quinn, a two-piece that scored her a spot on every best dressed list.
However the 40-year-old switched to the other side of the sartorial pond for her after-party outfit, sporting a shimmering mosaic gown by US designer Tom Ford.
Covered in an intricate smattering of metallic red shards, the slinky number made just as much a style statement as her first ensemble.
The mother of two was a co-host of the annual fashion bash, along with Italian designer Donatella Versace and pop superstar Rihanna, and was accompanied to the Metropolitan Museum of Art venue by husband George.
The couple was joined at the after-party by close friends Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, as they enjoyed a rare night out without their twins Ella and Alexander, who were born last June.
Ocean’s Eleven star George even joked about his children on the red carpet, when asked where they were by photographers.
“Under her dress,” he jested, pointed at Amal’s flowing floral-print train.

The lawyer has previously only attended the Met Gala once before, in 2015 when the theme was China: Through the Looking Glass, wearing a custom-made Maison Margiela Artisanal gown by John Galliano.
The British-Lebanese activist and philanthropist missed last year’s event, as she was heavily pregnant.
