Take in some cultural art works
It’s the first day of the Holy Month, so we think this one makes sense. Community arts association Ductac is holding its annual Ramadan exhibition, and it sounds like it’s going to be a goodie. The Gallery of Light has a focus on diverse mediums and emerging artists, so not only will you get into the spirit of the month, you might discover your new favourite maker. Expect an exploration of how Ramadan effects the lives of people in our part of the world.

If you’re in need of a serious skincare reboot, this is your option. Sisters Beauty Lounge offers the ultra-luxe Margy’s Monte Carlo range of treatments, and our pick is the botox effect facial. It’s all about anti-oxidants, massage, and masking—expect hyaluronic acid, marine extracts and collagen masks as well as thorough cleansing and exfoliation. You’ll walk out glowing, not least to the massage element. Lovely.

Catch up over a board game
How long has it been since you got involved in a serious game of Monopoly? Here’s your chance. Tania’s Teahouse are extending their opening hours throughout Ramadan, and invite you and your loved ones down to catch up over some Scrabble and a cup or three of chai. If you’d like to break your fast there, so much the better. Try the acai bowl.

Celebrate the royal wedding
Britain’s Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle tie the knot today, we think it’s worth watching live just to see her dress. We’ve rounded up the top spots to watch the whole thing over here, but you could do much worse than Al Fayrooz in the Madinat Jumeirah. Each guest will get their own personal miniature wedding cake.
