Taking Milano by storm

From Fendi’s emotional tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld, to Moschino’s gameshow themed runway, Milan Fashion Week, was not one to miss. The third of the four major fashion weeks in the world served looks and incredible shows, which included appearances from four supermodels from the region.

Bella Hadid

The Palestinian-American model had an incredibly successful New York Fashion Week, as she was part of every major show. From shinning in a gold dress for Ralph Lauren, to closing the Oscar de la Renta show, to walking in Micheal Kors’ disco themed runway, she was everywhere. The 22-year-old took a break during London Fashion Week, but has returned to take Milan by storm.

Bella was part of Max Mara’s simplistic yet stylish show. She strutted down the runway in a business chic look Bella, as she wore a sleek pinstripe suit with a matching skirt. What made the look unique were the two satchels that were draped around her neck in a coordinating material to her boots. The collection had the model’s stamp of approval, as she posted a video of her look on Instagram, captioning it, “This collection is something else – Love !!”

Bella, who has worked with Karl Lagerfeld on several occasions was part of the emotional Fendi show, where she walked down the runway in the designer’s last collection for the Italian brand. She wore a a long-sleeved nude dress, paired with white boots and matching nude hat.

The 22-year-old walked the Moschino show, which was all fun and games, as it paid homage iconic TV game show, “The Price Is Right”. Bella walked the catwalk in a voluminous wig and 70s inspired makeup. She wore a sheer floor-length dress, with a bedazzled belt, and a leather jacket.

Versace had a star-studded runway, as supermodels strutted in pieces from the fashion house’s latest edgy collection. Bella rocked a bold look, as she wore a sheer ruffled high-neck jumper, and a lacy mini-skirt with a slit on the left leg. Completing her look was an oversized black leather jacket, and black cut-out sheer lace leggings.

The beauty was a ray of sunshine as she walked Roberto Cavalli’s runway. She sported two polarising looks on the catwalk. For her first look, Bella wore a mustard-yellow jumper dress with a pleated skirt and knee-high boots. Her second look was an edgier all black ensemble, featuring a high-neck jumper with rips around the midriff, a belt bag, and knee-high boots.

Here most regal look yet during Milan Fashion Week comes courtesy of Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. Bella wore a creme coloured satin dress with a plunging neck line. Her second look for the show consisted of an oversized lavender turtleneck over a sparkling, red skirt and red ankle boots.

Missoni put on a glittering show, taking guests back to the 1970s. Bella, who has walked every major show in Milan rocked a new look for this runway. She rocked bangs, as she took to the runway in a stylish grey and black patterned overcoat with a pair of striped tights.

Bella looked angelic as she walked the Alberta Ferretti show in minimal makeup. She rocked two looks on the runway, the first being a dress with a glittering encrusted cut-out bodice, and a satin white skirt with a thigh-high slit. For the second look, she wore an oversized white sweater, pants, and boots with a white and gold belt and silver statement earrings.

Gigi Hadid

Bella’s elder sister had a calmer experience at Milan Fashion Week, as she walked only three shows. Gigi arrived in Milan to walk the Fendi show, as she held back tears while walking in Karl’s final collection. She closed the show in a bright yellow dress and nude boots. She shared a video on her Instagram from the runway, which she captioned “For Karl”.

The 23-year-old walked the Mrs. Prada runway, just last month Gigi walked her very first Prada catwalk, as she was part of the brand’s autumn/winter 2019 menswear show. The model rocked bleached eyebrows, as she wore an oversized olive jacket with black sleeves, over a light blue buttoned up blouse and a sheer skirt.

Gigi’s walked Versace’s runway, which was her last show at Milan. She looked edgy in a plunging black asymmetrical dress, which was accessorised with a gold Versace body chain, choker, earrings and rings.

Nora Attal

The Moroccan-British model was recently a part of Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2019 campaign. Ever since she was discovered, Nora has been walking the runways of some of the fashion industry’s biggest brands, and this fashion week was no different. The Moroccan-British model walked Salvatore Ferragamo’s runway in Milan in a camel leather jumpsuit.

The 19-year-old walked Marni’s runway in a multi-coloured pixelated prints adorned silk dress. The Moroccan beauty completed the look with dark heavy eyeshadow, red boots, and choker necklace.

If you needed another reason to believe that Animal prints are this season’s hottest trend, then take a look at Nora’s runway looks at the Tods show. The model walked the catwalk in a cheetah print coat with a leather belt.

Nora looked angelic, as she rocked another coat look at the N21 show. The 19-year-old wore a white feather coat, which made her look like she was wrapped in clouds.

Iman Hammam

The Dutch Moroccan/Egyptian Victoria Secret model walked the Versace show along with her friends Kendall Jenner, and Gigi and Bella Hadid. The beauty dazzled in a black strapless mini dress with gold embroidery and embellishments. She completed the look with black opaque stockings, and ankle boots with the brand’s gold Medusa head logo and golden bows.
