Actors Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson couldn’t planned a better way to reveal to the world that Zoolander 2 is in the making. Taking Paris Fashion Week by storm, the ‘really, really ridiculously good looking’ pair strutted down the catwalk at Maison Valentino, showcasing their best ‘Blue Steel’ pouts as their alter-egos Derek and Hansel.
Talks of a sequel to the hilarious 2001 movie, Zoolander, that pokes fun at models and the fashion industry, has been going on for a while but Ben Stiller, 49, and Owen Wilson, 46, decided to have some fun when confirming the news.
Front Rowers, including Kate Mara, Cara Delevingne and Nicky Hilton, nearly jumped out of their seats with shock and excitement when the sedate Valentino show at Paris Fashion Week turned into a a real-life walk-off between Stiller and Wilson, or rather Hansel and Derek.
Just before the finale of the womenswear show Stiller and Owen both walked out from different ends of the horseshoe-shaped catwalk as Human League’s Don’t You Want Me blasted out. While strutting his stuff Wilson even grabbed an iPhone from a FROW member and performed a series of selfies during the walk-off.
Fans of the film will remember the original walk-off, which was judged by David Bowie, however the singer was sadly unavailable to officiate the proceedings. Also not in attendance was the film’s hilarious villain, Mugatu, played by Will Ferrell.

While the ageing actors may have put on a show as an elaborate marketing campaign to promote Zoolander 2, whose plot involves Zoolander’s overweight son, Derek Junior, it seems their style credentials and sass got the official seal of approval from Anna Wintour. The fashion heavyweight even posed backstage with the two actors. Sadly she didn’t attempt a Magnum or a Blue Steel pose.
Zoolander 2, which is rumoured to also star Justin Theroux and Penelope Cruz, is set for cinema release in February 2016.
