Zain Al Rafeea became one of the breakout stars of 2018, when he landed the star role in Nadine Labaki’s Oscar nominated film, Capernaum. Now, it seems like the young Syrian actor is set to join the world’s most successful franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Zain, a Syrian refugee moved to Lebanon in 2012, where he grew up in the slums of Beirut with his parents. The young boy was working as a delivery boy when he met Lebanese director Nadine Labaki. He then went on to star in her heart-wrenching movie, which follows a 12-year-old boy who resorts to stealing and begging to survive on the streets of Beirut, and proceeds to sue his parents for bringing him into a world of suffering.
