As the world embodies newfound creativity amid the pandemic, Chanel’s latest Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture collection is a testament to that.

The show took inspiration from equestrian elements that were inspired with a modern twist, as it embodies the harmonies between the horse and its rider.

The short film directed by Xavier Veilhan is taken in a graphic setting that emulates ethereal lightness.

From joyful silhouettes to pieces embroidered with precious flowers, the airy collection bridges the gap between fantasy and reality. Chanel’s ambassador, Charlotte Casiraghi is seen in a black tweed jacket being the focus of the film.

Since its inception, Coco Chanel has always incorporated features that give women a sense of freedom, as horse racing was a key focus throughout the house’s fashion revolution.

At the heart of each collection always lies neo-classical elements that are brought to life in the most feminine manner possible. By maintaining its elegance, several pieces such as toques, cloches and free-flowing ensembles, are just what Virginie Viard elegantly brought to life.

As Gabrielle Chanel was an avid lover of horse riding and all that surrounded it, she always contributed to absorbing ladies’ equestrian fashion and expanding it beyond an Olympic sport.
