His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, is known for his love of extreme sports.

Whether it be diving into the world’s deepest swimming pool, climbing to the top of the Burj Khalifa or skydiving out of a plane thousands of feet in the air, Sheikh Hamdan is a big fan of all things adventure.

However, recently when participating in an extreme sports activity, with friends, including Nasser Al Neyadi, who is an adventure sports enthusiast himself, Sheikh Hamdan’s quick reactions may have saved his friend from a serious accident.

In a video posted to social media by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum, who is also known as Uncle Saeed, Nasser is seen in the water off the Dubai coast set to take part in a session of jetpacking, where participants can go up to nine metres in the air through the power of water jets.

Just as Nasser was set to go and experiencing a few heckles from friends, the footage showcases him losing control of the apparatus submerging into the water.

Many rushed to Nasser’s aid, including Sheikh Hamdan, to help him and ensure he was okay.

Once the jetpack device appeared to be stable, Sheikh Hamdan appeared to share a look of relief with his friend, as they both smiled and laughed.

Sheikh Saeed posted the video to Instagram, stating Nasser had a “close call”, to which he responded with three laughing emojis, clearly now finding the situation funny. appeared to be stable and in control

The footage has gone somewhat viral, having received nearly 186,000 views.
