The UAE has been ranked as the second safest country in the world.

According to a new report by  Global Finance magazine, 134 countries were surveyed. Aspects such as war and peace, personal security, natural disaster risk and the health sector, including the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic were taken into account.

Taking all these factors into account – including the fact the UAE is leading the way for COVID-19 vaccination rates – the nation ranked second on the list, according to the data acquired by Global Finance magazine.

The only country to top the UAE was Iceland.

The top 10 safest countries in the world are as follows:

  1. Iceland
  2. UAE
  3. Qatar
  4. Singapore
  5. Finland
  6. Mongolia
  7. Norway
  8. Denmark
  9. Canada
  10. New Zealand

Fellow GCC countries also ranked particularly high with Qatar following the UAE ranking third. Meanwhile, Bahrain ranked 12th, Kuwait 18th, Saudi Arabia 19th and Oman 25th.
