Jewelled floor-sweepers and star-spangled gowns were the order of the night…

This weekend’s annal amfAR gala left us with stars in our eyes – mostly thanks to one particular gown.

Lebanese label Elie Saab kitted out Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria Baston for Thursday night’s charity event, with the actress wearing a blush-pink number emblazoned with sequinned stars.

The actress lit up the red carpet of the Cannes gala in the plunging gown, which comes from the label’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection.

However Longoria wasn’t the only A-lister that the Beirut-based brand dressed on the night.

Saab was also donned by a supermodel duo at the 24th annual gala, which raised more than US$20 million for AIDS research and services.

And Saab wasn’t the only Lebanese label on display, with Zuhair Murad pulling out a stunning crystal-striped number for Victoria’s Secret model Izabel Goulart.

The sheer gown, showered with sparkles and a delicate string of backlaces, was a custom creation.

Murad also kitted out VS Angel Jasmine Tookes in an embellish black number, featuring subtle ruffles and a pared-back train.

The amFAR event, which raised funds through ticket sales and an on-the-night auction and fashion show, featured performances from Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora and Diana Ross.

Money raised will now go towards charities, organisations and research groups to help in the fight to eradicate the disease.
