Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Rajwa Al Saif of Saudi Arabia announced their engagement last week with a series of stunning portraits.

The future bride of Crown Prince Hussein has been welcomed with open arms into the family, particularly by her soon-to-be-mother-in-law Queen Rania who shared her excitement on social media about welcoming a “third daughter” into the family.

It appears Her Majesty also even lent some special fashion and jewellery pieces to Ms Rajwa which she wore for some of the official portraits with her husband-to-be.

During the official engagement ceremony which took place at Ms Rajwa’s father’s home in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the future bride wore an olive green dress, mustard shayla and white kaftan, embellished with gold flowers. The kaftan was sinched with a gold belt, which appears to be borrowed from Queen Rania, who was seen wearing the piece herself back in 2019 to mark Jordan’s Independence Day.

In the days that followed Crown Prince Hussein’s engagement to Ms Rajwa, more official photographs were released. In one of the portraits, Ms Rajwa is wearing a shirt and skirt set by designer by designer Sara Roka, but it’s the earrings she accessorised the ensemble with which speak 1,000 words.

Borrowed from Queen Rania’s own personal jewellery collection, Ms Rajwa wore Her Majesty’s custom earrings by British jewellery designer Stephen Webster – the Magnipheasant Plumage Earstuds.

Her Majesty was seen wearing the earrings back in November 2015 during a public engagement in Amman, Jordan.

Who is Rajwa Al Saif?

According to Jordanian news outlet Roya News,  Ms Rajwa was born in Riyadh on April 28, 1994 and is currently 28 years old.

The bride-to-be is the youngest of four children, including Faisal, Naif, Dana and Rajwa, born to parents Khalid bin Musaed Al Saif and Azza Al Sudairi.

The Al Saif family’s heritage dates back to the Subai tribe in the town of  Al-Attar in Sudair, Najd, Saudi Arabia, where ancestors are known to have been the sheikhs of the town.

Ms Rajwa’s father, who resides in Riyadh, has established himself as a well-reputed businessman over the years.

The engagement

The engagement was confirmed via a Twitter post by the Royal Hashemite Court on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. The post congratulated the couple and showcased a series of images of the family together to mark the special occasion.
