While our coats continue to gather dust, there is another key winter staple that is firmly back on our radar – boots. Versatile as they are fabulous, there are multiple styles to choose from and guess what, they are the perfect partner to your favourite dress.

You can rely on a western pair to tone down a girly dress, while a pointed silhouette perfectly balances out a maxi dress that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Higher boots work perfectly with mini dresses, as do chunky stompers that are gathering momentum thanks to Bottega Veneta and Prada.

Slouchy boots are a surprise winner for midi lengths – it shouldn’t work, but it does. Hiking boots meanwhile deliver just the right amount of country-chic to our city wardrobe.

As for colours, white boots are dominating but we tend to stick to classic colour scheme (tan, black, cream) or animal-print. Trends come and go, but these will last you for seasons.
