As Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik continue to enjoy their first year of parenthood together, Hadid has been opening up more about raising her baby daughter Khai as she nears her first birthday.
Just recently, Hadid reflecetd on her relationship with her own mother, Yolanda Hadid, when she was young watching her go through the motions of her beauty routine. Similarly, she also discussed how she plans to pass on certain beauty secrets to baby Khai.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Hadid expalined, her mother “had a very simple, natural take on skincare”.
“She didn’t overdo it with product, and I feel like I’ve taken that on, where I think less is more,” she added. “Doing too much for my skin or beauty routine can make it more complicated, and sometimes my skin can’t handle it.
“I think I’ll teach Khai to keep it simple when it comes to makeup, like my mom taught me.”
When discussing her everyday morning routine, Hadid notes how she has simplified the ritual, “I’ve really simplified my routine to just the necessities of the necessities. Obviously when I’m working, I do more. But when I’m home, I’m on mom duty full-time.”

Hadid and Malik have approached parenthood in a united manner, with both the supermodel and singer giving insights into their experience of parenthood and how they plan to bring up baby Khai.
In an interview with i-D Magazine Hadid revealed the values she wants to instil in Khai, which mostly relate to her heritage.
Hadid began saying, “We [Zayn and me] think about it and talk about it a lot as partners and it’s something that’s really important to us, but it’s also something that we first experienced ourselves.”
“Because both of our parents are their own heritage. We are that first generation of those mixed races, and then that comes with that first generational experience of being like, ‘Oh damn, I’m the bridge!’. That’s not something that my parents experienced or that they can really help me through. It’s something I’ve always thought about my whole life,” she continued.
