Into the dollhouse

This has been a great week for Taylor Swift fans, as the pop-sensation dropped her Lover music video and an 18-track album. In true Taylor fashion, the clip was a visually aesthetic experience with numerous easter eggs. But, what caught our attention was her colourful wardrobe, which included an Emirati jewellery brand.

It seems like the 10-time Grammy award winning artist dropped one of her most creative videos yet. In Lover, Taylor and her partner live in a house with seven brightly-coloured rooms, each representing one of her seven studio albums. The visuals make use of colour-blocking, with the lights and wardrobe contributing to the clips overall aesthetic. The pink room in the video symbolises her latest release, Lover.

Decked out in pink, the singer is seen wearing a Pink Opal Butterfly Embroidered set from Fleur du Mal, which she paired with Gucci loafers. The theme continued with her jewellery, which included a gold bangle with pink diamonds from Misahara Jewelry, AC Cocktail Rings by Anabela Chan and Nayra Earrings from Emirati jewellery brand, Ruwaya.

Ruwaya was founded by Emirati designer, Fatima Al Dhaheri, in 2015 in the UAE. The brand draws it’s inspiration from Fatima’s Arab background, making use of exotic sights, sounds, smells, flora, culture, and traditions. The Khaleeji jeweller started her career working for her father at his renowned fine jewellery brand Amwaj. While there, she started creating one-off pieces for her friends and family, before heading to the Gemological Institute of America to refine her skills before starting her own brand.

Ever since its launch, the brand has been championed by several international stars. Business woman and artist, Rihanna was spotted rocking Ruwaya’s snake bracelet for her SavagexFenty Spring campaign, back in April. Other celebrities who wore the brand are: Tiffany Haddish, Jenna Dewan, Ariana Grande and Joey King to name a few.
