When it comes to safety, the UAE continues to rank as one of the top places when it comes to the welfare and security of its residents.

In the most recent official report published, it’s been found the UAE is the safest place to walk alone and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has shared his pride over this declaration.

Per Gallup’s 2021 Global Law and Order report, 95 per cent of the country’s residents feel safe, especially when walking alone at night, allowing them to top the charts in this category.

Sharing his delight on social media His Highness noted how safe the UAE was for women and how they can walk home, be it day or night, “without fear”.

“According to the Gallup Report for Security and Order 2021, the UAE is the first in the world, for the number of residents who feel safe walking alone at night,” he said.

“Security is a blessing and safety is tranquillity. If a woman wanders alone at any hour of the day or night without fear, she knows that she is in the Emirates.”

Earlier this year in a report published by Global Finance magazine, the UAE ranked as one of the safest countries in the world, ranking number two just after Iceland out of 134 countries that were surveyed.

Aspects such as war and peace, personal security, natural disaster risk and the health sector, including the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic were taken into account.

Taking all these factors into account – including the fact the UAE is leading the way for COVID-19 vaccination rates – the nation ranked second on the list.
