Dubai’s ever expanding skyline is about to get an extra boost thanks to its new multi-billion dirham Aykon City.
Plans for the luxurious mega-complex were announced this weekend when Damac Properties revealed details of the launch of the Dhs7.4 billion project.
Construction on Aykon City, a six-tower, 4 million square foot luxury complex on Sheikh Zayed Road, will commence before summer 2016 with a completion date tentatively set for 2021.
The property will be home to an 80-storey Aykon Hotel and Residences as well as a 63-storey Damac Maison serviced hotel residences, a 60-storey apartment tower, a 65-storey office tower and two 30-floor ultra-luxury residential towers which feature car lifts – that’s right an elevator that brings your car from your garage to the door of your house without the need for ramps.

Not only will it be a premium complex and lifestyle hub – there’s cafes, some shops and fitness facilities including a climbing wall – but Aykon City will also have a premium zip code thanks to its location near the region’s revolutionary lifestyle environments including Meraas’s City Walk and BoxPark, all of which are accessible by car, bus, metro and water bus (the latter when the the canal opens).
“Aykon City is a unique concept – an entire city set within the magnificent metropolis of Dubai. Located in the Golden Quadrant on Sheikh Zayed Road, the development will be a new architectural icon on the majestic city skyline,” reads the Damac brochure promoting the project.

Aykon City is the latest in a long line of incredible projects that are set to cement Dubai’s status as an architectural wonder. Only recently we revealed how His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, unveiled new design proposals for a new tower (name yet to be decided) to be built by Emaar in the Dubai Creek area. The new building is set to be so spectacular that it will rival the grandeur of Burj Khalifa and the illustrious popularity of the Eiffel Tower.
We never knew buildings could be so exciting but we’re loving all of this.
