The end of summer is officially in sight

Have a mermaid pedicure

Could this be the prettiest pedi in Dubai? Pamper yourself with a mermaid pedi, where your feet will brim with caviar and clam shell pearls. The ultimate post-work pick-me-up. Bonus points: it’ll look great on the ‘gram.

Enjoy a decadent afternoon tea

This afternoon tea comes with unrivalled views of the Burj Khalifa. Take your pick from sweet pastries and freshly baked scones, complete with an extensive tea menu.

Five star dining in an elevator

Not for the faint-hearted, this five-course luxury dinner takes place in an  elevator. Start on the ground floor and work your way up eight floors for each course, ending on the 40th  with panoramic views of the Dubai skyline. Fancy going that extra mile? Get picked up in a Rolls-Royce or splash out on a bottle of bubbly. Don’t mind if we do….

Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Dhs4000 for five courses and a bottle of fizz, until September 30. Tel: (04) 432 3232.

Friday August 31

The ultimate poolside brunch

What better way to see in temperatures (slightly) cooling down than one of Dubai’s best beach clubs? Back for business after a two-month hiatus (we’re looking straight at you, sandstorms), celebrate the return of the post-summer season with Nikki Beach’s brand pink-themed brunch, Rose Saturdays. Beach floats, fresh Mediterranean dishes and even better beats? We’re in. Just don’t forget the sunscreen.

Nikki Beach Dubai, Pearl Jumeira, Saturday brunch starts from DhS265 for food and soft drinks, (04) 376 6162,

The best food and massage combo

Yes, you heard us correctly – Raffles have combined our fave two past-times. They’re currently offering a 60-minute massage *and* afternoon tea.  Take your pick from  hibiscus cured salmon and jasmine infused roulade, orange blossom custard cream and more. Be sure to arrive peckish…

Raffles Spa, Raffles Dubai, AED 450 per person and AED 850 for two; includes a 60-minute massage and Floral Afternoon Tea. Tel: (04) 314 9870

Saturday September 1

A comedy to remember

Award-winning play Carnage heads to our fave hipster hang-out Alserkal Aveue this weekend. The play follows two warring middle-class parents whose inability to resolve their differences leads to awkward and comical consequences. This dark comedy definitely deserves a space on your cultural calendar this weekend. It’s not hard to see how it was awarded several accolades including an Olivier and several Tony Awards for best play and best director.

Alserkal Avenue, Friday 31 August to Saturday 1 September, 8pm to 10pm. Until 1 September.

A laid back Saturday brunch

Spend an afternoon enjoying the Lazy Grazing Feast Saturday brunch in City Walk. The restaurant invites diners to join any time between between 1pm and 6pm and enjoy an unlimited feast for three whole hours. Highlights on the menu include the delicious Graze steak, and the moreish truffle mac and cheese.

Graze Gastro Grill, La Ville Hotel & Suites City Walk, Dubai, Saturday brunch from 1pm to 6pm, from Dhs199. Tel: (04) 403 3111.
