When you first think of Oscar de la Renta, Carrrie Bradshaw, spectacular gowns and ladylike glamour instantly spring to mind. It isn’t until you take a closer look into his musings and inspirations that his passion for nature also becomes clear. There could therefore be no better designer to collaborate with The New York Botanical Gardens on a collection of stunning limited edition tabletop pieces. That’s right, homeware just got super-sophis.

The collection of 20 exquisite pieces encapsulates the famed designer’s love for both gardening and botanical prints. Personally selecting prints and engravings from rare 18th and 19th century botanical books, Oscar was able to put a very personal touch to the range, which also showcases his signature combination of classic elegance with contemporary flair. Carolina Irving, Creative Director for Oscar de la Renta Home, said: “This collaboration is such a natural extension of who Oscar is and his great passion for gardens.”

With the likes of peonies and apple blossoms flouncing their way across cocktail glasses and dinner plates, to dahlias, magnolias and gardenias being brought to life through paperweights and salt and peppershakers, the primary colour palette for the collection of indigo, vermillion, lettuce green, pink and ivory holds true to Oscar’s existing and highly regarded Gift & Entertaining Collections. Further ensuring that this collection will be met with the same adoration and desire his customers hold for his designs.
