The beauty of living in a warm climate is that you don’t have to do much to transition your wardrobe from summer to autumn. It’s more about focusing on pieces that work extra hard all year round and can support your inside to outside lifestyle.
Designer Amal Al Raisi always finds an effortless way to pay tribute to the rich culture of Oman through her pieces. Her collections continue to have a day-to-night appeal and she manages to balance minimalist lines with rich detail.
For Autumn 2020, she was inspired by dramatic mountains of Musandam that are located on the northern border of the Sultanate of Oman. The area is renowned for its rugged landscape and jagged coastline, while its waters are home to dolphins and other exotic marine life.
Capturing the best of nature, Al Raisi created fluid dresses, midi skirts, capes and separates on a colour palette of cream, ruby red, soft grey, blush pink and black. The floaty silhouettes are balanced with more structured pieces such as the tailored tweed and coats.
In line with Al Raisi’s style, expect delicate embellishments in abstract designs that pay tribute to the glittering waves while layers of ruffles create a whimsical aesthetic.
