The best in fashion will descend upon Dubai next week to mark Arab Fashion Week, run by the Arab Fashion Council in collaboration with Dubai Design District (d3).

As part of the line-up, couture label Amato by Furne One will open the week on October 11 and showcase its latest collection with the newly crowned Miss Universe Bahrain opening the show.

Last month, Evlin Abdullah-Khalifa, who is a 24-year-old model and pianist, was crowned the second-ever Miss Universe Bahrain and will go on to represent the country in the 71st Miss Universe pageant, where the final winner will most likely be crowned in 2023.

However, until the international pageant, she is turning her hand to fashion, something which she is “thrilled” to be doing.

“It has always been my dream to walk on the runway of Arab Fashion Week and now that dream will finally come to life,” she said in a statement discussing walking the runway with Amato. “This is even more special as I will be walking for the world-renowned fashion designer to the royalties and stars, Furne Amato of Amato Couture.”

Khalifa went on to discuss her time with Miss Universe so far, which she has described as “incredible”.

“This whole journey of Miss Universe has been incredible so far and I cannot wait to see you all as we have been preparing to represent the Gulf region on the global stage of Miss Universe,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Dubai-based couture label has made a global name for itself having been adorned by a plethora of A-listers including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Tyra Banks, Ariana Grande, Cher, Mariah Carey, Shakira and many more.
