The highly-anticipated New York Fashion Week has officially arrived.

As designers debut their new Fall/Winter 2024 & Spring/Summer 2024 collections, the themes all highlighted a nuanced touch in the sartorial world, where different colours and shapes came together.

Attended by a host of A-listers from around the globe, this prestigious event witnessed names such as Sofia Richie Grainge, Halima Aden and Kelly Rutherford, Alexa Chung, Katie Holmes and more who all sat front-row for the shows.

As feminine shapes were fused with menswear-inspired tailoring. Overall, the collection was a subtle nod to the mob wife trend with colorful shearling jackets were paired with gold chains and black sunglasses.

The label is putting its own spin on quiet luxury. From expertly tailored coats, leather accessories, and fluffy fur paired with practical footwear. The tailoring was clean and sharp and the pieces definitely put simplicity at the forefront.

The heels have eyes! With a 20/20 focus the SS24 collection took center stage at New York Fashion Week with its eclectic collection. Area touched down at New York Fashion Week to present a ready-to-wear and couture collection inside the city’s Starrett-Lehigh Building, where the the optical motif was transmuted into Dalmatian spots, blooming flowers, and exaggerated crystal eyelets that decorated retro shift dresses, denim staples, and some fantastic leather outerwear.

Helmut Lang’s, Peter Do stayed true to the brand’s ethos of outfitting New Yorkers in clothes they want to wear by developing a series of ultra-cozy coats, mismatched plaid separates, and balaclava hoodies fit for those peak winter days. The collection was titled “Protection vs. Projection, where versatility and ease came together.

The collection embodies the idea of what eveningwear and glamour would look like in a sci-fi, apocalyptic desert—which informs a rich colour palette and luminous textures like luxurious creams, liquid metallics, burnt orange lamés with intricate glass beading, deep reds, and black shimmering tinsel reminiscent of a vast starry sky.
