We love that the UAE is getting more and more cultural by the minute with constant openings of new galleries and museums, and the latest museum in the pipeline has us extremely excited.
The Union Museum, a new venue that will celebrate the UAE’s founding fathers is set to open its doors just time for National Day, which is December 2.
Making announcement about what is set to be a spectacular museum was His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who also shared rendering images of the museum on social media.

While you may not be familiar with the museum, it is not some rushed job. In fact Sheikh Mohammed revealed the building has been in the works for a while, stating: “Over the past two years, we have built a museum celebrating the United Arab Emirates’ Union: a historic achievement.”

Not only will Union Museum celebrate the country’s founding fathers but Sheikh Mohammed is also keen for it to celebrate the memories of the people in the UAE, asking residents to share their story on social media using the hashtag #PreserveTheLegacy and also online.
Sheikh Mohammed said: “Anyone with a document, image or memory of the story of our Union can share it with the UAE etihadmuseum.ae”
The museum will be based at the site of Union House where in 1971 the rulers of the emirates signed a declaration that marked the formation of the UAE.
It’s rather fitting – a historical site for a very special monumental museum that will help preserve all the legacies of the UAE.
