Next step for #Megxit
It’s been a turbulent week for the British Royal family as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially stepped back from their royal duties.
Meghan travelled to Canada soon after the announcement to be with their son Archie, while Harry stayed behind to continue the discussion with his family, after which the Queen blessed their decision. It is now been revealed that the couple will lose their HRH titles in spring, but spokesperson on behalf of Buckingham Palace did confirm that they will still remain the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

As part of the new agreement, Harry and Meghan will pay back the taxpayer money that went towards refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which has now been closed and staff let go, and they won’t “receive public funds for royal duties”. “With the Queen’s blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations,” the statement continues.
“Buckingham Palace does not comment on the details of security arrangements. There are well established independent processes to determine the need for publicly funded security. This new model will take effect in the Spring of 2020,” it concludes.
