Katy Perry will be putting on a New Year’s Eve show in Abu Dhabi tonight.
The end of a year is an occasion to celebrate for many around the world—and one particular star is turning the end of 2017 into more of a blast than most.
Singer Katy Perry is currently in the UAE, ahead of her New Year’s Eve performance at Yas Island’s du Arena on December 31.

The 33-year-old, who earlier this year became the first person to reach 100 million followers on Twitter, has been taking in the nation’s sights before her one-night-only gig, according to her social media feed.
The Roar singer enjoyed a desert safari where she took part in a traditional dance display (with some rather non-traditional splits), she revealed on her Instagram stories.

Perry also took to the sand dunes with her tour crew, where the group powered along in some snazzy ATVs.

The US chart-topper also made the most of the capital’s tranquil beaches, sharing a short clip of the Abu Dhabi waves lapping her feet.

Perry, whose No 1 hits include California Gurls and Part of Me, is currently on a world tour with her new album Witness.
She’s got several Guinness World Records, American Music Awards and a Brit Award to her name, and is known for her upbeat live performances.
The NYE bash first Abu Dhabi gig for Perry, who last performed in the UAE in 2015 at the Dubai Air Show (while last year’s New Year’s gig was headlined by British band Coldplay).
