The short answer is we think he might be (and these celebrities agree).

We’re always pleased to hear of a Middle East designer who’s cracking the big time. Our region is pretty blessed when it comes to fashion talent, and the rest of the world seems to recognise that.

This time around, it’s Kuwaiti designer Yousef Aljasmi who’s caught our eye.

Really, with that level of sparkle, there’s no way he couldn’t. Aljasmi has dressed Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, and half the Kardashian family, and he’s done it all with the kind of over-the-top glamour we’re always pleased to see.

Most recently it was Gwen Stefani who turned to Aljasmi when she needed something to wear for her performance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade in New York.

Slightly fabulous, no? We’re loving that fringing and her matching headband. So festive, so fun. Perfect for the stage. (Can’t wait to see you, Gwen, by the way.)

Back to those Kardashians we mentioned – Aljasmi has dressed Kylie Jenner several times over the years, but his most recent turn with them was for Kim Kardashian West at Halloween.

Aljasmi recreated Madonna’s Bob Mackie gown for Kardashian, and wow. It’s safe to say he did it justice. We love Kourtney Kardashian’s MJ look, too.

It’s not all stagewear and fancy dress, though. Aljasmi is also well-known for his super-detailed wedding gowns, which made him the perfect choice for Keyshia Ka’oir when she married rapper Gucci Mane.

Dripping in diamonds is absolutely the aesthetic here. Ka’oir tends to take things to a whole other level, and she looks amazing.

While flicking through the label’s website, we also came across this image…

That’s right, Aljasmi made one of the costumes for Beyonce’s song Sorry, from her outstanding visual album Lemonade.

We’d say this talented Kuwaiti designer is ticking off a fair number of items on his life goals list. Long may he continue.
