Last week it was announced that the ever-popular reality television franchise the Real Housewives is coming to Dubai.

Naturally, since US television network Bravo confirmed the news, speculation has been rife about who will be starring on the hit reality series.

One name which has been thrown into the mix is actress and singer, Lindsay Lohan, who has been based in Dubai for the last seven years.

During a discussion about the Real Housewives of Dubai on US television show The Talk, host Jerry O’Connell asked Andy Cohen, the executive producer of the Real Housewives franchise about Lindsay’s potential appearance on the show.

“Let me tell you something – it’s a good idea, Jerry,” Andy said, but added that the Dubai-based actress isn’t on the cast list.

In fact, the stars of the new reality show have already been cast. “They’re a group of friends. It’s great,” Andy said. “We haven’t announced the cast yet. But we’re really excited about them.”

Last week the executive producer shared his excitement in a statement about the new show, saying he’s been “fascinated” with Dubai “for years”.

“Everything’s bigger in Dubai, and I couldn’t be more excited to launch Bravo’s first international Housewives series in a city I’ve been fascinated by for years, with an outstanding group of friends as our guides,” he said in a statement.

According to Bravo, The Real Housewives of Dubai will focus on a group of women based in the emirate “navigating their relationships, careers and supremely lavish and ultra-wealthy lifestyles in the United Arab Emirates”.

Thus far, the cast hasn’t been confirmed, but many US outlets are speculating Caroline Stanbury – who previously starred in the Bravo produced show Ladies of London – could be one of the stars. However, this is yet to be confirmed.
