And just like that after 20 seasons and 14 years, Keeping Up With The Kardashians (KUWTK) has ended.
The show that defined the genre that is reality television over the last decade where the Kardashian-Jenner family shared many significant moments – both good and bad – with millions of people has officially closed this chapter.
However, ensuring she shared one last important aspect of her life with the audience, Kim Kardashian revealed exactly why she decided to end her nearly seven-year marriage to Kanye West.
Kardashian candidly admitted on-camera, in scenes which were filmed back in October, that she had sought the help of a therapist who made her realise she was in an unhappy marriage.
“I just want total happiness,” she admitted. “Obviously, I know complete bliss is not a full reality but if I can have it more the majority of the time, that’s all I want to do.”
Reflecting on what she has managed to achieve over the last 14 years, Kardashian admitted that turning 40 was a wake-up call for her, particularly about West’s decision to move to the US state of Wyoming, where he purchased a ranch.
“I never thought I was lonely, and I always thought that’s totally fine, I can just have my kids, my husband moves from state to state and I’m on this ride with him and I was OK with that,” she said.
“And then after turning 40 this year I realised, no, I don’t want a husband that lives in a completely different state to me. I thought, ‘Oh my God, that’s when we’re getting along the best.'”
Ultimately, she said she wanted someone who shared the same values as her.
“I want someone that we have the same shows in common, I want someone that wants to work out with me,” she said.
“Wherever that takes me I just want my pure happiness, so that’s what I’m working on: figuring out how to get there,” she added.
Kanye West moves on
Coinciding with the finale of KUWTK, reports emerged that West has started a new romance with Victoria’s Secret supermodel Irina Shayk.
As West celebrated his 44th birthday, he and Shayk have been spotted together in France.
Per PEOPLE, sources have said they stayed for three nights at the picturesque Villa La Coste, where they hung out together in New York City before travelling to France.
Meanwhile, according to a report by E!, Kardashian isn’t phased by the romance between the pair, as long as it doesn’t impact their four children together – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
The reality star even took to Instagram to wish West a happy birthday.
“Happy Birthday, Love you for life!” she said, sharing a photo with their children.

Separation reports
Back in January, E! News reported the pair – who first met back in 2002, but started dating in 2012 – had separated, but at the time Kardashian hadn’t officially filed for divorce.
The beauty mogul and the rapper were effectively living separate lives and hadn’t “spent time together as a married couple in months” and only spent time together with their four children.
The couple officially announced they were divorcing in February of this year.
