Kanye West is no more.

The rapper has officially changed his name and it’s a lot shorter now.

Enter ‘Ye’. Yep, just Ye.

After a request was filed by the rapper in August of this year to change his name for “personal reasons”, his name change was approved by a Los Angeles judge.

Previously, Ye’s full name was Kanye Omari West, but he will just go by ‘Ye’ without any middle name or last name.

Confirming the news, the 44-year-old took to Twitter saying, “The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.”

The Grammy Award winner has had his name as Ye on his Twitter bio for quite a while and it was also the title of his 2018 studio album.

He previously told radio host Big Boy in 2018: “I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible. In the Bible it means you.

“So, I’m you. And I’m us. It’s us. It went from being Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye, just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused – everything.”

Ye’s name change comes after the rapper’s divorce from Kim Kardashian West was announced earlier this year. The pair have four children together – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
