There’s no doubt if you were ever to become a billionaire your loved ones would be incredibly proud of you, but they probably wouldn’t declare it as publicly as Kanye West has done for his wife Kim Kardashian.

In true Kanye style, the rapper took to Twitter to oh-so profoundly declare how proud he was of his wife’s billionaire status.

“I am so proud of my beautiful wife Kim Kardashian West for officially becoming a billionaire,” he said. “You’ve weathered the craziest storms and now God is shining on you and our family.”

The 43-year-old went on to say, “So blessed this is still life. So I made you this still life. We love you so much.”

Interestingly, alongside his message Kanye included a photo of flowers and vegetables – and TBH, we’re not really sure what message this tries to convey.

Kim K joined her sister Kylie Jenner amongst the ranks of billionaires (although this has been contested as of late), after Coty, the company that owns a 51 per cent stake in Kylie Cosmetics, bought a 20 per cent stake Kim’s makeup line, KKW Beauty.

According to the Financial Times, the beauty giant bought its stake for $200 million (Dhs7.34 million).

Through the deal the 39-year-old’s cosmetics company has been valued at $1 billion, which is $200 million lower than her younger sister Kylie’s business.

Last year, Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics was valued at $1.2 billion, with Coty buying a 51 per cent stake in the company for $600 million.

This acquisition made the 22-year-old a billionaire, as determined by Forbes magazine in 2019 – Jenner was declared the youngest self-made billionaire due to the growth of her makeup empire Kylie Cosmetics, and was featured the mogul on the cover of the publication.

However, last month Forbes accused the reality star inflating her net worth in her financial filings. The financial publication alleged Jenner is, in fact, not a billionaire in an article titled ‘Inside Kylie Jenner’s web of lies’.

“No one cares more about the topic than the family itself, which has spent years fighting Forbes for higher spots on our annual wealth and celebrity earnings lists,” the article stated.

Forbes went on to allege Kylie Cosmetics is “significantly smaller, and less profitable, than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets, including Forbes, to believe”.

Here’s hoping Kim doesn’t have her billionaire status contested…
