The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi is pictured piloting a chopper in a rare video clip.
The UAE’s ruling families certainly have their sights set high – sky-high, that is.
First came the Sheikha working as a commercial pilot for Emirates, then came HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai’s, skydiving daughter.
And now Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has shown his prowess in the cockpit.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces was capturing taking a helicopter for an inspection flight in a clip posted to social media.
In it, the royal surveyed mountainous terrain as he steered the chopper, headphones on.
And just a glimpse of the steep drop beneath his glass-bottomed feet is enough to make our tummies feel funny.
It is not known exactly when the footage was filmed, but the flight could have been taken to survey damage caused by recent storms and rainfall across the country.
Sheikh Mohammed learnt to fly at the UK’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (where Jordan’s Crown Prince is currently studying).
Sheikha Mozah Al Maktoum, described as the first female pilot from Dubai’s royal family, made headlines earlier this month after completing her first commercial flight with passengers on board.
The aviator helped transport a plane from Dubai to Ammam for Emirates Airline, after earning her wings in April last year.
She’s not the only Al Maktoum female with her sights set high, however – HH Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum is quite the sky-diving expert.
The daughter of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, regularly jumps out of planes over the UAE.
