The Dubai-born beauty brand is bringing out its first base this week.

Getting Instagram-worthy skin without a little post-picture editing is what we strive for every day (although Dubai’s air con and humidity doesn’t help our mission).

However an upcoming new product might add up the ante in our beauty arsenal, and bring us a little closer to our skin goals.

Huda Beauty is releasing its first-ever foundation on October 13, and judging by some recent videos, it’ll live up to the hype.

The Faux Filter foundation will launch in 30 shades (with a foundation brush sold separately), and is billed as full coverage with a real-skin finish.

Case in point: a new tutorial shared by the brand’s founder Huda Kattan.

The Dubai-based entrepreneur used a gorgeous model to show how the base covers any uneveness without the need for extra concealer.

“[It’s] great for all skin types; dry and oily,” Kattan revealed, saying the product dries down to a power finish.

“Covers acne, pigmentation and smooths skin texture,” she added.

See how it evens out her skin tone and texture, but without looking cakey? That’s no mean feat. It’s also water resistant, which is excellent news for us in the humid UAE.

Coming up with the formula wasn’t a quick process, however, with Kattan calling it “the hardest project I’ve done to date!” in an Instagram video earlier this year.

“Colour matching for foundation is like the hardest thing I think I’ve ever done for beauty. I was doing fractions trying to find the percentage of people who have redness in their skin,” she also told Racked.

It’s set to cost $40 in the US and while there’s no official word yet on what the UAE price is, the State-side version works out at Dhs147.
