OK, are you sitting down? If not, do so now as we have some very good news. Marks & Spencer is launching an online store in the Gulf.
That’s right our beloved one-stop shop for women’s, men’s and kids wear as well as home accessories and food is making shopping in the UAE so much easier. Why change from your pyjamas to trek to a mall when you can order an entire outfit from the comfort of your bed?
Marks & Spencer has been available online in Europe for some years now. The decision to extend the service to the Gulf is a clear sign 0f the e-commerce boom in the region.
The new website marksandspencerme.com offers customers across the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait the chance to have their favourite Marks & Spencer products delivered direct to their door. With a flagship store offer of 6,000 clothing, home and lifestyle products, the new website will give customers access to more choice and better availability including more sizes, styles and colours.
As well as door-to-door service, the website also offers a Click & Reserve option, which allows you to buy online but collect in store. Customers can collect online orders within 60 minutes of making their reservation. In Dubai, the service will be even more tailored with the first Marks & Spencer Concierge Service. This is especially perfect for those who are in-between sizes as a courier will bring multiple sizes for the customer to find the perfect fit in the comfort of their own home.
Standard delivery is free for orders over Dhs399, otherwise it’s Dhs10 for delivery within two to five days or Dhs40 for same day delivery before 6pm. Next day delivery is Dhs25. Nominated day delivery starts from Dhs30 while the VIP concierge service is Dhs99.
For return it’s quite simple. Return item(s) to any Marks & Spencer store within the same country of purchase, along with your delivery note and your payment card for a full refund. If you don’t have time to go in store, return item(s) through collection by contacting the customer service team. There may be a small returns fee. To exchanges your item(s) contact the customer service team.
A spokesperson said of the new online expansion: “The move online is in line with Marks & Spencer’s ‘bricks and clicks’ growth strategy for the MENA region across stores and E-commerce, in response to the changing way that consumers shop today.”
Renowned for its celebrity collaborations, Marks & Spencer recently announced Alexa Chung has created a special collection inspired by Marks & Spencer archives. The collection, called Archive by Alexa, comprises 31 ready-to-wear items and will launch in April. Fingers crossed the collaboration will make its way to the Middle East.
