After the monumental precedent set by July in terms of pop culture content, it’s time for the shows and movies in August to live up to the benchmark.

The UAE heat in August will be at an all-time high, so why not just stay in and binge-watch some quality shows and movies? This month is all about exciting action-thriller movies, dramatic TV shows and series that will keep you hooked once you begin.

For starters, season 2 of Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s show Made In Heaven is finally set to release. Back in 2019, this show became an instant sensation because of its unfiltered take on Big Indian weddings. Besides this, Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin are back with the third season of Only Murders In The Building – this time, with Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd *screams internally*

If this wasn’t enough to convince you to stay indoors and hibernate with your favourite snacks, Bollywood starlet Alia Bhatt is about to make her Hollywood debut this August. Fresh off the heels of the success of her recent film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Alia is ready to play the ultimate antagonist opposite Gal Gadot and Jamie Dorman in Netfix’s Heart Of Stone.

Only Murders In The Building Season 3 on Disney+

The gang is officially back. The quirky crime-solving trio returns, now with two fresh faces joining the cast to enhance the intrigue of the murder mystery. In the third season, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel (played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) investigate a murder within the backdrop of a Broadway show. Hollywood action star Ben Glenroy's (Paul Rudd) Broadway debut is cut short by his sudden demise. Assisted by co-star Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), the trio embarks on their most challenging case, while director Oliver strives to piece his show back together.
