As per tradition, The Met Gala is the first Monday in May, with the exact date of the event being May 6, 2024.

What is the 2024 Met Gala Theme?

Last year, the theme was — Karl Lagerfeld, the designer of Chanel, Fendi and his own brand, making it both the subject and dress code. his year’s theme, “A Garden in Time,” is based on a short story by J.G. Ballard. In that story, the rich hide themselves in Arcadian splendor while unwashed and rioting poors amass outside. Meanwhile, it will be in support of this year’s exhibit, —“Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”—will celebrate the Costume Institute’s new exhibition of the same name; The exhibit will feature approximately 250 items drawn from the museum’s permanent collection, some rarely seen in public before, and displayed in entirely new ways.

Joining Ms. Wintour as the 2024 gala’s co-chairs are Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny, while the honorary chairs are Mr. Anderson of Loewe and Shou Chew, the chief executive of TikTok.

Where is the Met Gala held?

The Met Gala takes place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on the first Monday in May each year (with the exception of the 2021 event, which took place in September due to COVID-19 restrictions).
