A race with a difference

This year’s Dubai Women’s Run has unveiled a brand new initiative to promote women’s empowerment in the region.

The annual race has unveiled a “Women of Substance” platform, where they’ve selected a number of inspirational women in the UAE to guild female participants.

They’ll champion girls to lead an active lifestyle, assist them to be proud of their achievements and raise awareness of how to take control of their life to build an empowered future.

The competitors selected for the 2018 Women of Substance include: Alia Al Zaabi, the first Special Olympian to represent the UAE, Donna Benton, Founder and Chairman of The Entertainer, Helen Al Uzaizi, CEO of Biz World, Jade Palmer, Nike Master Trainer, Maria Conceicao, Founder of Maria Cristine Foundation, Modupe Omonze, Managing Consultant of Runway Dubai, Sandra Saksena, Empowerment Officer of Echlon Advisors and Vagelyn Tumbago Federico, Director of Human Resources at Dusit Thani Dubai.

The race will be held at a new location this year: Festival Bay at Dubai Festival City Hall on November 16th.

Dubai Women’s Run first launched in 2010 and is supported by the UAE Athletics Federation Dubai Sports Council as well as H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
