Nineteen restaurant at the Address Montgomerie recently launched its new Italian Fish Market evening (or as head chef Marcello calls it – the ‘mercato del pesce’). Every Thursday, the head chef sources the freshest fish available in the city that day. Diners can then choose whether they want their fish seared grilled or baked. Each dish is priced per weight, and a complimentary drink is available upon arrival. The restaurant offers unrivalled views of the championship golf greens and fantastic outdoor seating (if its cool enough).

Join a Pink October fitness class


This Friday Anantara The Palm is hosting a breast cancer awareness event. The IGNITE Pink is Punk event is a combined swim and run event, with 100% of the proceeds going to Brest Friends in association with Al Jalila Foundation in support of those affected by breast cancer. It’s seventh year, the event starts early (the race pack collection opens at 6am!) Throughout the morning there will be several events, including a sprint, fun run and under 12s and under 16s event.

The Armani hotel at the bottom of the Burj Khalifa has recently launched its flexible afternoon brunch. The package runs for three hours and can be enjoyed anytime between 12.30pm – 9pm every Friday. The brunch takes place at the Armani/Deli restaurant where diners can tuck into delicious prime cuts of beef, risotto, pasta or enjoy the cheese tasting room, crudo bar and delicatessen. There’s live music all afternoon long, and different beverage packages available.

12.30pm – 9pm, every Friday, Armani/Deli, Burj Khalifa, Dubai, UAE. AED450 including premium beverages, AED310 soft drinks only (each package is valid for three hours).

The city’s first ever art house cinema recently opened up, Cinema Akil. This weekend the cinema is showing McQueen, a documentary which explores the life of the late, great British fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Other films showing this weekend at the Alserkal Avenue-based cinema include award-winning Egyptian filme Yomeddine, and French-Italian drama Dogman.
