While COVID-19 threw a wrench into the plan of showcasing fashion shows at luxurious locations, Dolce & Gabbana has gracefully embraced the change by starting the see-now-buy-now shows in a runway format hosted on its website and social channels, aiming to give customers immediate access to the brand.

As the fashion world has been finding creative new ways of using technology to project immersive reality experiences by live-steaming high fashion runways, which has become a new norm where everyone is invited.

The first haute-couture show for the Italian Maison to be digitally streamed was back in July and consisted of a pre-recorded, audience-less fashion show in the classic catwalk style.

From tailored waistcoats styled with baggy jeans and baroque belts featuring the band’s distinct maximalism and the premiere collection titled ‘Walking In The Street’ managed to take inspiration from reality.

By trying something new, the Italian luxury house managed to innovate through the new digital capsule initiative where the shows will present men’s and women’s collections, and for the first time ever for the designers, everything will immediately be available for purchase.

Without confining to the system of traditional shows, each look is created to be more wearable and is intended to reflect real-life dressing in 2020.
