The coronavirus pandemic has caused many things to change in the UAE – work habits have changed, socialising has been altered and ways of communicating have changed, too.
Another major aspect of life that has drastically altered is the divorce rate in UAE’s capital, according to the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), the Khaleej Times reports.
In fact, according to officials, the situation has caused families to reconcile their disputes given the current circumstances.
During the first quarter of 2020, 80 per cent of the 4,132 dispute cases taken to the Family Guidance Division have resulted in reconciliations.
“Spending time together has helped couples in containing disputes and restoring harmony among the family members,” authorities noted.
Perhaps the current circumstances is making us all rethink what truly matters in life.
